Are you talking about the Authenticator?
Blizzard Store - Authenticator Keychain
or
Blizzard Mobile Phone Authenticator
The Keychain Authenticator is not a usb drive, but simply has a button on it, you press the button, you get a six digit code, you type in the code after your normal login password.
The Mobile Authenticator works the same way but is a program on your phone (must be a "Smart Phone") you run the program and it give you a 6 digit code (?) you type in the code after your normal login password.
Either Authenticator is linked to your account with a unique binding code that generates a "timed" math formula based 6 digit code. This code changes about every 30 seconds, once the 30 seconds has run out, that code is no longer usable.
So basically its an additional password on your game login account that changes every 30 seconds.

I have Verizon Wireless which does NOT have an authenticator for sercurity available for my cell phone. I do know the iPhone by At&T has an authenticator addon that is available. So I am currently using the Authenticator Keychain which is working quite well. If you have the iPhone then I believe you can just download the program from Blizz link...the Authenticator Keychain is purchased online and was mailed to me via standard mail in just a few days for less than $6 as I recall.

| I personally don't recommend getting an authenticator on your iPhone. I've been led to understand that those things are incredibly vulnerable to malware |
